Day 3: Share your voice

Day 3: Share your voice | World Vision Blog

Almost a billion people don’t have access to clean water, and more than 4,000 children die every day because of dirty water. Today, let’s do something about it! Join World Vision’s advocacy team in sharing the joy of clean water by asking Congress to pass the Water for the World Act.

Today’s challenge: Contact your members of Congress with our simple online form and urge them to support clean water!

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” –Proverbs 31:8-9 (NIV)

So easy, a kid can do it

Advocacy is the simple act of using your voice to speak up for others. As U.S. citizens, we can speak to our leaders and ask them to make decisions that help the most in need. This may seem difficult or intimidating, but our kid advocate shows you that it’s easier than you think.

Meet Desi, our kid advocate! She’s part of our Beyond 5 advocacy community – ordinary people using their voice to do extraordinary things. She may not know the ins and outs of Washington, D.C., but she knows that she can do something to help those in need.

Today, you can easily make a difference for the billions of people around the world who don’t have access to clean water or adequate sanitation facilities by showing your support for the Water for the World Act. This bill would build upon the investments that the United States is making to improve global access to clean water and sanitation.

By contacting your members of Congress through our simple online form, you can help bring clean water to the world. Then, spread that joy by ordering postcards that you can share with friends and family, multiplying the impact of your voice. We want to send 30,000 letters to Congress in support of this bill by the end of the year … help us reach that goal!

We’ll also be spreading joy this season by giving the person who gathers the most signatures a trip to join us in Washington, D.C. for our water summit this March!

More than 4,000 children under the age of 5 die every day from diseases like parasites, worms, dysentery, and diarrhea, spread by unsafe water. Your gift will help bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to communities, helping to cut child deaths by more than half! Plus, kids will be able to attend school, because they won’t be sick in bed or have to walk long distances to collect water. Make a one-time donation to the Clean Water Fund today!

Instead of filling out the form for Gov't to get involved I'm giving to WV's water fund. As a part of WV I support private means of helping to solve the horrible conditions of the world. Thanks to all who support WV!
