Today’s challenge: Share a meal with a friend (or invite a friend over).

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” —1 John 4:7 (NIV)

Shipping love to the hungry

In 2010, the United States had the second-highest rate of childhood poverty among the 25 wealthiest industrialized nations. Across America, families go hungry every day because of natural disasters, unemployment, or homelessness.

World Vision is a global humanitarian organization, but we work at home, too. We’re fighting hunger here in the United States with our Family Food Kits. See how:

The food in these kits goes to people like the Striggles who really need it — who have lost everything — but the most important item for so many of the people that receive them is the note. A handwritten link back to where the kit came from, a message of love and blessing during a difficult time, is powerful and meaningful and lasts long after the food is gone.

Feed a family in the United States for three days! Right here in the United States, one out of every five children lives in poverty. Help restore hope to American families who have been struck by disaster, homelessness, or job loss. Send Family Food Kits, which include nutritious meals like oatmeal, lentil soup, pasta, and a bean-and-rice casserole.
